The book summary for Thibaut Meurisee's Dopamine Detox is what we'll be looking at in this video. The author of this book discussed three significant experiments or stages of the widely known Skinner Box Experiment conducted by BF Skinner.

He filled the Skinner box with a ravenous rat. The rat was first motionless within the box, but as it progressively grew accustomed to its surroundings, it started to look around. The rat eventually found a lever, and by pressing it, food from the box was freed. After its hunger was satisfied, it resumed exploring the box. Later, as it became hungry once more, it pressed the lever a second time. After the third, fourth, and fifth occurrences of this phenomenon, the hungry rat was finally placed inside the box and eventually pressed the lever. The conditioning was then regarded to be finished.

The food that is released into the chamber as a result of pressing the lever in this instance is the prize. Because the reaction is essential to receiving food, the experiment is also known as instrumental conditioning learning.

Therefore, the first stage of the experiment's effect is referred to as "positive reinforcemnt," the second as "negative reinforcemet," and the third as "variable rewards." We are all dependent on social media, smoking, porn, booze, coffee, and other things, just like this rat. 'Dopamine' is the only cause of this addiction.
