Awkward Moments: What Was Missed? Massage Sheet Fails ???? #shorts - Video

Namaste, to all you massage ???????? and yoga ???????? fanatics!

Let's skip the chatting and get to the awkward moments .. on the massage table. Here is a reenactment of what sometimes happens with massage clients .. ???? So, yeah not only is having a client exposed on the table AWKWARD but also realizing that maybe I missed something in my cuing or that my own embarrassment and overly obsessive nature about not letting ANYONE seeing me naked takes over and I just assume that I have SAID A MILLION TIMES "to please slide between the sheets" ....

And, then I question myself, "Did I say to get between the sheets?" Oh gosh ....

So, yeah, that's more awkward for me in all honesty.

Let's just be clear, it shouldn't be awkward for you as a client if you misunderstood or you are not sure of what to do and where to lay, etc ... IT HAPPENS ... It is terribly awkward if you do it on purpose and that crosses the line into harrassement. Okay, so please stay decent. Thanks. ????????

For those clients that do this on accident, believe me as a massage therapist, I know where / when to stare at the wall or look the other way, so please don't feel embarrassed.

And yeah for those other times .. I know when to protect myself and just leave. ???? And luckily, that situation is pretty rare to occur and not that common.

What's more common is somehow the client getting wrapped up and around the massage sheets like a country puzzle. ????

For you Licensed Massage Therapists, have you ever had someone (accidentally or intentionally) lay on top of the sheets covering themselves?! ???? Obviously, we strive to do our best as professionals, but sometimes clients surprise you before the massage even starts.

To sum it up - Every situation is different, and most of the times it's a totally innocent accident. I've only ever experienced a few times when it was obvious that it wasn't an accident. Yes, THOSE awkward moments are beyond awkward ???? to the point of harassment. Depending on how the client has been acting and if you as the Licensed Massage Therapist feel unsafe, the option to end the session immediately ???? is an option. There's no place for that in calm beautiful places where people come to heal, rejuvenate, relax, escape from stress, and find a slice of balance in their otherwise hectic ????????‍♀️????daily lives. And for those of you working as a massage therapy employee, your employer should back you 100%. If they don't, quit and seek employment elsewhere! Moments like this can be difficult to follow the path of ☮️ non-violence (Sanskrit: ahimsa). The primitive and prefrontal cortex of our minds ????both know this is an uncomfortable and potentially harmful situation that is to be avoided or dealt with immediately. It's a tough situation all the way around, and no two incidents are the same. My heart???? goes out to those of you who have experienced this, and this post (while a little humorous) is shining a light on things that can happen when following a massage therapy path.
