How to Fix a Leaking PolyPlumb Elbow Joint.

PolyPlumb is a tried and tested grey plumbing system but if the plastic pipe hasn't been seated properly it can leak, often days or weeks later. Follow me as I show how I fixed this leak on a PolyPlumb elbow fitting. At the end I'll show you how the PolyPlumb elbow joint works, it features a one step jointing process and a high performance stainless steel grab ring within the fitting, ensuring joint integrity.
The elbow pipe is suitable for use in most plumbing and heating installations including hot and cold water and underfloor heating applications.
It is recommended to use a Polypipe metal or plastic pipe stiffener when used with plastic pipe.

Cut the pipe at the K mark with a pair of pipe cutters and insert a pipe stiffener. You can use a plastic stiffener or metal stiffener, then simply push the pipe into the fitting. To know you've made the joint properly you'll see the K mark has gone right up to the edge of the joint.

Polyplumb is classed as a permanent system but can actually be demounted. To do this all you need to do is undo the nut and take the pipe out with the components on. The key to reuse is you have to replace the grab ring every time. You can buy a spares pack for this. Simply put a new grab ring on, put the fittings back and reuse again.
