India & Japan Grapple With Rise In Orphaned & Neglected Children | CNA Correspondent - Video

Millions of children worldwide have lost a parent or caregiver due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
And that is putting them at higher risk of abuse, poverty and mental health issues, including anxiety, depression and suicide.

India has one of the largest numbers of orphans in the world at more than 30 million, and those figures grew further during the pandemic.

Those running orphanages face the enormous task of trying to ensure that these kids have decent childhoods and are equipped to contribute to society once they become adults.
