Castration is a really common and important husbandry procedure in lambs. Any improvement, even if modest, could mean a massive overall benefit to sheep welfare. So, it's important we constantly re-evaluate what we're doing to consider if it's the best option for the animals under our care.

I'm Kaz, a young farm vet working in Northumberland (but now on sabbatical in New Zealand!), which is in the North East corner of England. I grew up in the city and found myself doing this job by a very happy coincidence.
This channel is an attempt to show my friends, family, and anyone else who cares, what I do on a day-to-day basis. If you have an interest in veterinary medicine, farming, food or the countryside, join me for the ride.
