After my holiday in Lake Toba, I chose a quite challenging route back Singapore home. I decided to take an overnight bus “Makmur” from Medan to Dumai first. Then I stayed at Grand Zuri Hotel 1 night and the next day took the “Dumai Express” ferry from Dumai to Batam. Finally took the daily ferry from Batam back to Singapore.
Dumai is a nice and quiet small town but it’s important main ferry terminal in Riau connected a lot of islands and city. During my stay in Dumai, I’ll stayed at Grand Zuri Hotel which was the only 4-star hotel in Dumai. I went to several interesting place including: "TAMAN BUKIT GELANGGANG" ; “Bandar Bakau Dumai”; “Hock Liong Kiong”, Later that night, I tried some street food in Dumai and there is “Make Mie” I like it. It’s very good!
The Dumai express Route, I like it as it’s sailing at gaps of islands, never go through any rough sea. 4 stops during the journey: Bengkalis, Selat Panjang, Tanjung Samak, and Tanjung Balai Karimun
