As they say, no plan is the best plan ????
We had no plans to cover Zanskar valley, but changed our mind and decided to ride till Padum after Tsewang Nurboo bhai informed us about a new route via Lingshed. Not only that, he agreed to join us on this journey ????
We decided to start our ride at 3 AM next morning from Leh and in the excitement we just didn't sleep that night ????
We crossed magnetic hill before the sunrise and views got better as we progressed further ❤️
Rough roads are still better, we rode on no roads and realized that it is not going to be an easy ride. ????
Soon came a rough patch with steep inclination, Sameer and I, managed to maneuver our bikes but car struggled to climb and broke down. MAK came to the rescue and found a temporary fix. We were soon riding again. ????
Another challenge was to cross the fast flowing Zanskar river tributary and we passed it through collaborative efforts.
We finally reached Padum in the evening at about 8. We were told that the Jio 4G internet was available in Padum and WFM is possible, while it holds true the internet speed wasn't quite fast. So, heading back to Leh was the only option left.
Next morning, we visited to the Sani village and beautiful lake devoted to Guru Padmasambhava ????
On our return journey to Leh, we saw the mighty #drangdrung glacier and what an amazing sight it was. We were told by a local enroute that the river crossings after Rangdum turned dangerous and we should cross them in the daylight, little worried we rode faster and soon reached the river crossings. Water was waist deep and flow was furious, it was getting dark and we decided to cross them one by one. After lot of hardwork, we managed to cross the river.
It was completely dark and we were determined to reach Leh so we continued further. We missed the view after this but managed to reach Leh by 5:30 AM.
It wasn't planned again but we unknowingly did the unbelievable...Zanskar circuit in less than 48 hours ❤️
