The first step of getting Optifine 1.18 is downloading it. You can find a link to download Optifine in the description above. That link will actually take you to our text tutorial on getting Optifine. Once you are there, though, scroll down and click on the green 'Download Optifine' button. This will take you to Optifine's official download page. Next, look under the 'Minecraft 1.18' section. There will be a version of Optifine there. Click on the 'mirror' link next to this version. That will then take you to the Minecraft 1.18 Optifine download page. There, click the purple 'Download' button to start the download. You will need to keep or save the file depending on your browser.

Now that you have Optifine downloaded, we can move on to how to install Optifine in Minecraft 1.18. This has changed a bit for Minecraft 1.18 as you need to get Java 17 for the Optifine 1.18 installer to be able to open up. Once you have confirmed you have Java 17, find the Optifine Installer file you downloaded. Right-click on it, click 'Open With', and select Java. Then, click Okay. The Optifine 1.18 Installer will open up. Click on the 'Install' button, and after a few seconds, you will get a conformation that Optifine has successfully installed in Minecraft 1.18! If you don't get a confirmation, it is because you need to go play Minecraft 1.18 without any mods and then come back to the Optifine 1.18 installer. Then, it should work!

You aren't completely finished though. You still need to open up the Minecraft Launcher, click the little arrow next to the Play button, and select Optifine. Then, click 'Play', and click Play again to confirm you are playing Optifine. Minecraft with Optifine 1.18 will then open up. If you don't have an Optifine installation though, you can create one.
